Project Description:

The Illuminations Fundraising Event was designed to elevate awareness and support for Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care while exceeding the success of the previous year’s event. This multi-faceted campaign utilized targeted social media content, an engaging email marketing strategy, and professionally designed printed materials to connect with affiliate partners and donors. By combining these efforts, the event successfully drove attendance and donor engagement.

Goals:

  • Increase Attendance: Expand participation by engaging a broader audience of affiliate partners and independent donors.
  • Raise More Funds: Surpass the $66,000 raised in 2023 to support Pikes Peak Hospice’s mission and services.
  • Enhance Engagement: Utilize strategic marketing efforts to strengthen connections with key stakeholders and community partners.

Creative Process and Strategy:

This year’s Illuminations Fundraising Event centered on Pikes Peak Hospice’s veteran services, emphasizing our commitment to honoring and supporting those who served.

The creative process began with a social media campaign on Facebook and LinkedIn, featuring compelling stories and photos of veterans honored through our recognition ceremonies. Each post highlighted the unique needs of veterans and Pikes Peak Hospice’s dedication to meeting those needs.

To complement the social media efforts, an email campaign was developed with a cohesive message: "We understand veterans' unique needs by listening to and learning about their service." This approach resonated deeply with donors and affiliate partners, creating a unified narrative across channels.

To ensure consistency and impact, collateral materials were designed for the business development team. These deliverables, rooted in the social media campaign's theme, were used to educate affiliate partners about the event and its mission, reinforcing the importance of supporting veteran services. This integrated strategy ensured that every touchpoint worked together to inspire action and drive event success.

Results:

The Illuminations Fundraising Event achieved outstanding results, exceeding its previous year's benchmarks in both attendance and funds raised. Through targeted social media campaigns, engaging email outreach, and professionally crafted printed materials, attendance increased from 260 in 2023 to 320 in 2024. Fundraising efforts saw a significant boost, with total contributions rising from $66,000 in 2023 to $85,600 in 2024. These outcomes underscore the impact of strategic planning and effective execution in driving event success.
